Introduction

Wordbricks, Inc (“Company”, “we”, “us”) is an AI technology company building vly — a place to create voices, talk with AI characters, and produce synthetic media.

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and process your personal data when you use vly, our website, and related services. We believe in transparency and minimizing data collection. It goes alongside our Terms of Use.

1. Collection of Personal Data

We collect the following categories of personal data:

Personal data you provide to us directly

  • Identity and Contact Data:When you sign in with Google, Apple, or Discord, we receive your email address and the display name and profile picture associated with that account. If you use Sign in with Apple's “Hide My Email” feature, we only receive Apple's private relay address. We never receive your provider password.
  • Payment Information: If you purchase a subscription or credit pack, payment details are handled by Stripe. We store your Stripe customer id, subscription status, and a credit ledger; we never see or store your card number.
  • Voice Data: Audio clips you upload to clone voices, transcripts we derive from them, and the synthesized audio we generate on your behalf.
  • Character Data: AI character profiles you create, including names, bios, avatars, cover images, voice intros, system prompts, and personality traits.
  • Inputs and Outputs:When you chat with an AI character or talk in a voice room, we process your “Inputs” (your messages, your voice) to generate “Outputs” (replies, synthesized audio).
  • Feedback: If you rate outputs, report a character, or send suggestions, we store that feedback to improve the product.
  • Communication Information: Contents of messages you send to our support team.

Personal data we receive automatically

  • Device and Connection Information: Browser user agent, device type, and IP address.
  • Usage Information: Feature usage, dates and times of access, and performance metrics.
  • Log and Troubleshooting Information: Error logs and application state data to identify bugs and abuse.

2. Uses of Personal Data

We use your personal data for the following purposes:

  • to provide, maintain, and operate vly;
  • to create and administer your account;
  • to facilitate payments and subscriptions;
  • to prevent fraud, abuse, and security violations;
  • to debug and repair errors;
  • to improve vly (analytics and feature development);
  • to enforce our Terms of Use and applicable law;
  • to communicate with you about service updates and security alerts.

Note on Model Training: We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your User Content or Generated Content to train third-party foundation models, and we do not use your private chat messages to train models, without your explicit opt-in.

3. How We Disclose Personal Data

We may disclose personal data to the following categories of third parties:

  • Service Providers: the minimum set of processors needed to run vly. As of the date above:
    • Hosting: Vercel, Cloudflare R2, Supabase (Postgres).
    • Authentication: Google (Sign in with Google), Apple (Sign in with Apple), and Discord (OAuth). We exchange your sign-in with the provider you choose; we do not see your provider password.
    • Real-time voice: LiveKit Cloud.
    • AI inference: Google (Gemini), Google Vertex AI, and OpenRouter for text and chat; internal voice synthesis services and Cartesia for voice synthesis; Deepgram for upload transcription.
    • Rate limiting: Upstash Redis.
    • Analytics: Vercel Analytics for aggregated page-view and performance metrics.
    • Push notifications: Expo Push for delivering in-app notifications to the vly mobile app (we store the device push token returned by Expo).
    • Payments: Stripe.
  • Legal Requirements: if required by law, regulation, or legal process.
  • Corporate Events: in the event of a merger, acquisition, or bankruptcy.
  • With your Consent:when you explicitly direct us to share information — for example, when you publish an AI character and other vly users can see and chat with it.

4. Rights and Choices

Depending on your location, you may have the following rights:

  • Right to Know: Request details on data we process about you.
  • Access & Portability: Request a copy of your data.
  • Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data.
  • Correction: Request correction of inaccurate data.
  • Withdrawal of Consent: Withdraw consent where processing is based on it.

5. Your California Privacy Rights

If you live in California, the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), as amended by the CPRA, gives you specific rights regarding your personal information. Most of what you can ask for is already covered in section 4 above — this section is the California-specific summary.

Categories of personal information we collect

In the last 12 months, we have collected the following CCPA categories of personal information about California residents:

  • Identifiers: email address, account id, IP address.
  • Commercial information: subscription status, credit-ledger entries.
  • Internet or network activity: usage logs, performance metrics, troubleshooting data.
  • Audio information: voice you transmit during a real-time voice room with an AI character.
  • Inferences: signals we derive to detect abuse and enforce rate limits.

Sources of this information, the purposes we use it for, and the third parties we share it with are described in sections 1, 2, and 3 above.

We do not sell or share your personal information. We have not sold or shared personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising in the preceding 12 months, and we will not do so in the future without first giving you the opportunity to opt out.

Your California-specific rights

In addition to the rights in section 4, California residents may:

  • Request that we disclose the specific pieces of personal information we have collected about you.
  • Request that we limit the use of your sensitive personal information to the purposes necessary to provide vly.
  • Designate an authorized agent to submit requests on your behalf. We will require reasonable verification of the agent’s authority before responding.

We will not discriminate against you for exercising any of these rights — your access to vly, the prices you pay, and the quality of service you receive won’t change.

To exercise these rights, email support@tamago.chat with the subject line “California Privacy Request” and tell us which right you want to exercise. We’ll respond within the timeframes required by California law.

6. Security & Retention

We use industry-standard safeguards (TLS in transit, encrypted storage at rest with our processors, access controls) to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We retain personal data only as long as necessary for the purposes outlined in this policy:

  • Account data is kept while your account is active.
  • User Content (uploaded audio, character profiles, chat history) is kept until you delete it or close your account. Derived artifacts (e.g. cached waveforms, transcripts) may persist in derived form for up to 90 days after deletion.
  • Billing records are retained for the period required by applicable U.S. federal and state tax law (currently seven years).

Our processors may host data in the United States and other countries. By using vly you consent to the transfer of your information to those jurisdictions, which may have different data-protection laws than your own.

7. Children

vly is not directed to people under 19. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact support@tamago.chat and we will delete it.

8. Changes to Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or in-product notice. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
